Abuma’s Certifications and Registrations Explained
When it comes to manufacturing and fabricating, you want a finished product that is professional and high quality. In order to achieve this, you need a company that goes above and beyond to meet industry standards and produce the best quality of work. This is why Abuma has made it our goal to achieve and maintain certifications and registrations that guarantee we’re up to date with current best practices and training.
What certifications and registrations does Abuma have?
Abuma has the following certifications and registrations:
- ISO 9001:2008
This is a quality management system that assists our organization in meeting customer needs and enhancing customer satisfaction. We only want the best for our customers, so choosing this quality management system was on the top of our list. We will soon begin certification of the recently released 2015 ISO standard. - ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1
This code is essential in the manufacturing world for pressure piping and vessel fabrication. It provides requirements applicable to the design, fabrication, inspection, testing, and certification of pressure vessels operating at either internal or external pressures exceeding 15 psig. This is an important code that helps companies create their products safely and efficiently. - Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB)
- W47.1, Division 2
- W47.2, Division 2
These certifications deal respectively with the fusion welding of carbon/stainless steel and aluminum. CWB is an industry supported, private sector, not for profit organization providing welder certification, management systems registration and training services. Our employees are qualified in a large library of welding procedures at Abuma so that they can provide consistent quality assurance and operate with safe work practices.
- American Welding Society (AWS)
- D1.1 Structural Steel - Plate
- D1.2 Aluminum

This includes the D1.1 Structural Welding Code - Steel, one of the most referenced codes in the world. The collection also contains welding inspector certification guidelines. Using AWS standards, you can assure safety, improve quality & remain compliant.
- TSSA Certification
- QA03207
TSSA works to promote and enforce public safety by providing certification in a number of areas, but more specifically in dealing with boilers and pressure vessels, and operating engineers.
- Canadian Controlled Goods Registered
Registration with the CGP is legally required for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. - ITAR Compliant
- 126.5
The Canadian Exemption (ITAR §126.5) allows U.S. suppliers to export licence-free certain less sensitive, unclassified ITAR-controlled materiel and services to Canadian recipients registered under Canada’s Controlled Goods Program.
- United States/Canada Joint Certification
- 0034854
Contractors must be certified under the U.S./Canada JCP to be eligible to bid on or receive a
contract involving access to unclassified Militarily Critical Technical Data (MCTD) under DND or DoD’s control.
- United States Central Contract Registered
This registration allows Abuma to do business with the U.S. government. Because a small portion of the government’s procurements are set aside for small business, this is a perfect opportunity to keep Abuma flourishing. - NATO Commercial and Government Entity
- NCAGE: L0895
The NCAGE is a code assigned to organizations to facilitate a supply chain. This is pertinent
to Abuma’s ongoing business dealings.
By keeping up with these certifications and registrations, Abuma is setting itself apart as one of the most highly qualified manufacturing companies in the region.
